我找來了Steve Jobs 最著名的畢業演講詞“You've got to find what you love”,
他這樣說:“During the next five years, I started a company named NeXT, another company named Pixar, and fell in love with an amazing woman who would become my wife. Pixar went on to create the worlds first computer animated feature film, Toy Story, and is now the most successful animation studio in the world. ”
2. Jariel,
Just so you know where I am coming from, I was and still am a student (or a sucker) for stories of successful entrepreneurs such Gates and Jobs, and am a big fan of Pixar movies, that's what prompted me to read books about Jobs. With that said, in a world where everyone is looking for someone to idolize (in politicians, athletes, CEO), it's important to separate the facts from fictions about these "god-like" figures. It's time to give credits where credits are due, so the little and less-known heroes behind the stage could be recognized. If you and Mr. Chiu would like to dig deeper on Steve Jobs, I suggest picking up real books and do a little research on him, instead of just click away on internet. It's a well known fact today's journalism are full of mediocre, 2nd-tier self-proclaimed journalists, ambushing in cyberspace waiting to spill garbage to anyone who's willing to listen. I'd be very careful on the sources of your findings.
Yes, Jobs was the CEO and one of the men who were instrumental to Pixar. But if it wasn't because of a few true genius / artists who lived in the forefront of computer animation back in the early 80s, you probably would never have heard of "Toy Story". Only if Lasseter was less "nerdy" and been a little more charismatic like Jobs, people today would probably associate a different face to the word "Pixar".
Steve Jobs has a talent for recruiting talents, but after Jobs recruited them, he often ridiculed and mocked them. At the end, Jobs had no friends in Apple, everyone avoided him. Scully, another CEO and co founder of Apple persuaded the board to take away Jobs exective power which left him with nothing to do in the company...So Jobs sold all but one share of his Apple stocks and left.
Steve Jobs bought the graphics division from Lucas Fim Ltd. to save it from dissolution and named it Pixar. When Steve Jobs took Pixar on in 1986 it sold high-end computer hardware, and Lasseter was charged with directing short films that would demonstrate the graphics capabilities of the Pixar Image Computer and its Renderman software. Jobs gave Lasseter the freedom to direct, produce, write, and create models for many projects that later include hit movies such as "Toy Story", "Cars", "A Bug's Life"...etc.
Does that help?
CEO
Apple
Steve Jobs is the CEO of Apple, which he co-founded in 1976. Apple leads the industry in innovation with its award-winning Macintosh computers, OS X operating system, and consumer and professional applications software. Apple is also leading the digital music revolution, having sold almost 200 million iPods and over six billion songs from its iTunes online store. Apple has also entered the mobile phone market with its revolutionary iPhone.
Steve also co-founded Pixar Animation Studios, which has created eight of the most successful and beloved animated films of all time: Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars and Ratatouille. Pixar has won 20 Academy Awards and its films have grossed more than $4 billion at the worldwide box office to date. Pixar merged with The Walt Disney Company in 2006 and Steve now serves on Disney's board of directors.
Steve grew up in the apricot orchards which later became known as Silicon Valley, and still lives there with his wife and 3 children.

StraighterShooter,
A good read if you really want to draw any connection between Pixar and Jobs.
My point is, Steve Jobs did NOT 創辦 Pixar, despite what the general public would like to believe. In this case, that includes you and Mr. Chiu here. Read my comment again carefully.
I am not trying to take away what Jobs had done for Pixar, he did bring lots of capitals for Pixar when they needed it the most. Of course, he was rewarded handsomely for that. Also another point I wanted to make is, Steve Jobs initially did not have any 賞識 and 眼光 on Pixar, he was much into the computer hardware business and it was Pixar's computer he was after. In the beginning, the creative genius behind those movies, John Lasseter, had to draw resources for the animation behind Steve Jobs' back in order to make it happen.
Steve Jobs' initial interest in Pixar, which he purchased from Lucasfilm, was computer hardware Pixar had developed for movie making. Never a fan of computer graphics, Jobs was enlightened by Disney's interest in Pixar and finally realized the true asset Pixar possessed. Steve Jobs was nothing more than a savvy businessman who capitalized from a once-small company that had shown a great potential.
To learn more about the truth of Jobs and Pixar, I suggest a book by Alan Deutschman "The Second Coming of Steve Jobs".
